FRSC Takes Road Safety Campaign To Ogun Motor Parks

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, has taken a road safety campaign to motor parks across the state, ahead of the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations.

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Odunsi Afolabi, said the move is to ensure a crash-free festive season, in line with the directives of the national headquarters, with the aim of sensitising the motoring public on the necessity of adopting safe driving habits during and after the festivities.

Representing the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, the Sector Head of Operations, Deputy Corps Commander Samuel Ogundayo, led the exercise which commenced from the Sector Command Headquarters and culminated at the busy Panseke Motor Park.

While addressing officers and transport stakeholders, DCC Ogundayo emphasized the importance of discipline and civility.

He urged motorists to shun “critical offenses” that often lead to avoidable tragedies, specifically excessive speeding and dangerous overtaking; overloading of passengers and goods; use of mobile phones while behind the wheel, and driving under the influence of alcohol or tiredness.

During the rally, personnel distributed safety flyers and utilised megaphones to engage directly with drivers and commuters at the parks, ensuring that road safety messages reached the heart of the motoring community.

“Our goal is simple: to create a safe motoring environment for everyone in Ogun State.

“We want every traveler to reach their destination alive to celebrate with their families,” the Sector Commander stated.

The FRSC remains committed to its mandate of reducing road traffic crashes through continuous education and strategic community outreach.
