OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos
TransQuest publishing Media has announced plans to commemorate its 20th anniversary with a one-day Transport Seminar and Quest Awardees event on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja.
The event, planned as part of the organisation’s vigentennial celebration, is expected to bring together key institutions and prominent stakeholders across Nigeria’s transport and maritime sectors for strategic dialogue, sectoral assessment and recognition of outstanding contributors.
The seminar, themed “Leveraging Nigeria’s Maritime Potentials to Drive Economic Growth,” will be chaired by renowned transport scholar, Professor Bamidele Badejo. Professor Iyiola Oni of the University of Lagos is billed as the keynote speaker, alongside guest speaker Mr. Lucky Amiwero, a leading maritime consultant.
Convener and Publisher of TransQuest, Mr. Felix Kumuyi, said the anniversary reflects two decades of consistent and watchdog-driven reporting on the transport and maritime industry. He added that the seminar has been intentionally designed to contribute to national transport policy conversations and promote collaboration among critical stakeholders.
A strong lineup of special guests and award recipients is expected, including the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Dr. Pius Akutah Ukeyima, MON; Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola; Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho; and Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Chief Kayode Opeifa.
Also expected are top industry leaders and security officials such as ACG Mohammed Babandede, Coordinator, Zone A, Nigeria Customs Service; the Commander of the NDLEA Apapa Strategic Command; Prince Olayiwola Shittu (JP), CEO of Skelas Group; Mrs. Ezenwa, CEO of Le’look Nigeria Ltd and former Director at the Federal Ministry of Transport; Dr. Eugene Nweke; Alhaji Adetona Mobashir, Chairman/CEO Only God is Wise Nigeria Ltd; and Otunba Hakeem Olanrewaju, Chairman, Customs Consultative Council. Several Customs Area Controllers will also be in attendance.
The programme will feature a symposium, panel discussions and presentations of awards to individuals and institutions that have demonstrated exceptional leadership and impact within the transport and maritime ecosystem.
Kumuyi noted that beyond honouring industry trailblazers, the event aims to deepen collaboration, promote best practices and stimulate needed reforms for unlocking Nigeria’s maritime economic potential.
With operators, regulators, academics and industry captains expected at the gathering, the organisers say the 20th anniversary celebration is positioned to be one of the most influential sector engagements of the year.
