OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) and the Ogun State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (OGSEMSAS) have reaffirmed their commitment to closer collaboration aimed at enhancing service delivery and improving emergency response to road crash victims.

This development formed the focus of a courtesy visit by the OGSEMSAS management team, led by its Director, Dr. Hassan Adelakun, to TRACE headquarters on Ajebo Road, Abeokuta.

Speaking during the visit, the most senior TRACE Commander, Mr. Elias Omonayajo, who oversees the agency’s daily administration and operations, called for increased capacity building for TRACE personnel, particularly in first aid and emergency response.

Omonayajo noted that equipping operatives with modern techniques for handling accident victims would significantly improve outcomes in saving lives and property, while ensuring quality emergency care.

He also reaffirmed TRACE’s readiness to support OGSEMSAS, especially in the training and retraining of its drivers for recertification, as part of efforts to boost operational efficiency.

Earlier, Dr. Adelakun said the visit was aimed at strengthening and revitalising the working relationship between both agencies to achieve more effective service delivery across the state.

He urged TRACE field commanders to take full advantage of the renewed partnership by promptly notifying OGSEMSAS of emergency situations through its dedicated contact line, 08112000033, to ensure swift medical response.

Members of the OGSEMSAS delegation included the Deputy Director and Head of Operations, Dr. Festus Adetanwa; Head of Rural Emergency Services and Maternal Transport (RESMAT), Mrs. Florence Thompson; and the agency’s Public Relations Officer and Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Adesakin Adefemi.
