The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has called on residents to prioritise safety and exercise caution as they celebrate the Easter festivities.

The appeal was conveyed through the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, which also reassured the public of its preparedness to respond to emergencies during the period.

In a statement issued by the agency’s Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, residents were urged to remain vigilant and avoid actions that could result in accidents or disasters.

He stressed the need for individuals to be mindful of their environment and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and hitch-free celebration.

Oke-Osanyintolu noted that LASEMA, in collaboration with other emergency response agencies, remains on high alert and fully equipped to handle any incidents that may arise across the state.

While reaffirming the agency’s readiness, he encouraged residents to promptly report emergencies by calling the toll-free numbers 112 or 767.

“We are prepared to respond swiftly to emergencies, but we also urge residents to take proactive measures to prevent avoidable incidents,” he said.

Governor Sanwo-Olu extended his Easter greetings to residents, wishing them a peaceful and incident-free celebration, while reiterating the state government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
