FAAN Unveils 2025 By-Laws To Strengthen Airport Operations

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has unveiled its 2025 by-laws, describing the revised framework as a major step towards improving airport governance, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across the country’s airports.

The new by-laws, launched on Thursday by the Chairman of the FAAN Board, Abdullahi Ganduje, represent the authority’s first comprehensive review of its regulatory framework in over two decades.

Speaking at the unveiling, Ganduje described the development as a significant milestone in repositioning the nation’s airports, commending the management for updating the legal framework to reflect current realities in the aviation industry.

FAAN’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, said the previous by-laws, last reviewed in 2005, had become outdated and were no longer sufficient to address the evolving demands of the modern aviation sector.

According to her, the 2025 by-laws were developed to align with current industry realities and FAAN’s changing operational structure, ensuring the authority remains responsive to emerging challenges and international best practices.

Kuku explained that the revised framework would serve as a comprehensive operational guide for FAAN personnel, airport users, stakeholders and other industry partners.

She added that the by-laws are designed to promote safer, more secure and commercially viable airport operations across Nigeria’s airport network, while reinforcing FAAN’s commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance and improved service delivery in the aviation sector.
