By Olorundare Enimola, Lagos

The Editorial Management of Global Transportation e-Newspaper (GTe-Newspaper) has announced the commencement of the presentation of its Front Page Portrait of Honour plaques to outstanding individuals with notable achievements in the transportation and logistics sectors.

According to the organisation, the presentation of the plaques to nominated honourees in government and the corporate sector will begin on Monday, December 15, 2025. Each recipient will also receive an official letter of acknowledgement as formal endorsement and recognition of the honour.

GTe-Newspaper disclosed that the initiative forms part of activities marking its first anniversary in publication. The project is designed to recognise individuals in the transportation industry, as well as organisations and professionals with significant logistics and commuting operations, for their contributions to improved service delivery and transport efficiency across Nigeria.

The anniversary celebration will also coincide with the launch of a national transport safety advocacy initiative tagged the Safer Transport Operations Project (STOP). The programme is aimed at engaging selected industry leaders as National Ambassadors for Transport Safety to promote awareness and improved safety practices within their respective spheres of influence.

Speaking on the initiative, Managing Editor of the publication, Mrs. Funmilola Olowookere, said the honourees were selected based on the collective assessment and resolution of the organisation’s editorial board.

She explained that recipients would be presented with specially branded front-page portraits for display in their offices and homes, in addition to official letters of honour.

“Our organisation has recognised Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi as the Best Performing Transport Commissioner in Nigeria, while Engr. Gbenga Dairo of Ogun State emerged as the Most Outstanding Transport Commissioner in the country,” Olowookere said.

She added that heads of transport agencies in Lagos and Ogun States, as well as private sector leaders with major transportation and logistics operations, were also selected for the recognition.

Olowookere further disclosed that GTe-Newspaper would commence a weekly special anniversary edition in January 2026. The series will feature the profiles, achievements and perspectives of each award recipient and will be published on the GTe e-newspaper platform, the official GTe website and thelandmarkinfo.com.ng blog.

She appealed to the honourees to support the initiative to ensure the successful execution of the programme, describing it as a significant milestone in advancing safer transportation operations across the country.
