Gateway Air Begins Flight Operations From Ogun Airport To Abuja, Kano
Gateway Air, Ogun state-owned airline, has announced the commencement of flight operations across major cities in Nigeria.
On April 4, President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Gateway International Airport in Iperu, Ogun state, along with the new Gateway airline.
In a statement issued recently, Kayode Akinmade, special adviser on information and strategy to the governor, said the development is the state government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and providing convenient travel option.
Akinmade said the airline commenced scheduled flights on April 13.
The routes include, Iperu to Abuja, Abuja to Port Harcourt, Abuja to Calabar, Abuja to Jos, and Iperu to Kano.
According to the statement, the one-way flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, offering passengers reliable and convenient travel options, with economy fares as low as N100,000.
“The development marks a significant step in improving regional accessibility and delivering efficient, reliable air travel services to passengers, while also supporting economic growth and connectivity across the country,” he said.
“Passengers are encouraged to make early bookings and stay updated through the airline’s official communication channels for flight schedules and additional information.”
On October 7, 2025, the Gateway International Airport in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun state, began operations with the inauguration of its first commercial flight by Dapo Abiodun, Ogun state governor.
