Air Peace Gets Brazil’s Approval For Direct Flights, Expands Global Operations
Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has secured regulatory approval from Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to commence scheduled flights between Nigeria and the South American country.
The approval, contained in ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, authorises the airline to operate regular passenger, cargo and mail services between Brazil and destinations within its expanding international network.
Air Peace, in a statement, described the approval as a major milestone in its ambition to become a global aviation brand and strengthen Nigeria’s presence in international air travel.
The airline said the planned Nigeria-Brazil route would significantly improve connectivity between both countries by reducing travel time from nearly two days, often involving multiple stopovers, to about seven hours through direct flights.
According to the airline, the new route is expected to boost tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Brazil, while also creating opportunities for increased cargo movement and economic cooperation across the South American region.
Air Peace noted that Brazil’s approval adds to its growing list of international destinations and reinforces its commitment to expanding Nigeria’s aviation footprint globally.
The airline is also advancing plans to secure approvals for scheduled operations to Toronto, Canada, and New York, United States, following applications submitted to aviation authorities in both countries.
It added that preparations are ongoing to resume flights to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Guangzhou, China, while plans have been concluded to commence three weekly flights to Manchester, United Kingdom.
The airline further disclosed that it would begin services to Libreville, Gabon; Conakry, Guinea; Bamako, Mali; and Douala, Cameroon, from August 1, as part of efforts to strengthen its regional and international network.
Air Peace said the expansion drive aligns with its vision of becoming Africa’s preferred airline and a globally recognised aviation company.
