Firm Unveils N300bn Transport Modernisation Project
P-GAT Industries Ltd. says it plans to roll out a N300 billion mobility project aimed at improving transportation systems and promoting electric mobility in Nigeria.
The Chairman of the company, Mr Prime Timothy, disclosed this at a news conference on Monday in Numan, Adamawa State.
He spoke while announcing the 2026 ATRaS Mobility Transition Summit and the N300 billion Fleet Integration and Transition Programme.
He said the project would support the adoption of electric mobility, expansion of charging infrastructure, and modernisation of transport systems, while also creating economic opportunities.
According to him, about N150 billion, representing 50 per cent of the funding, has been earmarked for the North-East over three years.
Timothy said the initiative is expected to generate about 50,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs across transport, logistics, technology and renewable energy sectors.
He said rising transport costs have continued to affect productivity and access to markets, making intervention in the sector necessary.
”The ATRaS Mobility Transition Summit is scheduled for June 20 in Numan, where stakeholders are expected to explore solutions to transportation challenges”.
He said a major highlight of the summit would be the unveiling of the ATRaS Mobility Ecosystem, which integrates electric mobility, financing, charging infrastructure, logistics and driver empowerment programmes.
Timothy also commended ongoing security efforts in the North-East, saying improved stability is encouraging investment and economic activity in the region.
He said collaboration among government, security agencies, traditional institutions and communities had helped strengthen peace and development efforts.
He urged investors and development partners to explore opportunities in the region, noting that sectors such as agriculture, logistics, renewable energy, manufacturing and infrastructure hold strong potential. (NAN)
