Kebbi Completes Key Road Projects, Advances Infrastructure Development

The Kebbi State Government has announced the completion of several road and infrastructure projects, while construction continues on others as part of efforts to improve transportation, strengthen economic activities and enhance residents’ living standards.

The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed, disclosed this during a press briefing at Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Saturday.

Ahmed listed the completed projects to include the dualisation of the Birnin Kebbi-Ambursa Road, rehabilitation of township roads, completion of the ultra-modern state secretariat complex and construction of a modern motor park in Birnin Kebbi.

He said the state government was also implementing additional road projects across various locations, with new contracts awarded in different local government areas to improve connectivity and ease the movement of people, agricultural produce and other goods.

According to the commissioner, the administration is prioritising infrastructure development as a strategy to stimulate economic growth, support agricultural activities, attract investments and create employment opportunities for residents.

He explained that improved road networks would facilitate the transportation of farm produce to markets, reduce movement difficulties and strengthen commercial activities across the state.

Ahmed also highlighted developments in the transportation sector, particularly the resumption of flight operations at Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport by NG Eagle Max Airlines.

He said the airline operates five days a week, describing the development as an important step towards improving air connectivity and supporting economic activities in Kebbi State.

The commissioner expressed confidence in the administration’s development agenda and urged residents to support Governor Nasir Idris for a second term in office.

He maintained that sustained investment in roads and other critical infrastructure remained essential to accelerating development, improving transportation and raising the quality of life of residents across the state.
