Lagos Maritime Week To Drive Policy Implementation, Industry Growth
Lagos is set to host key stakeholders in Nigeria’s maritime industry and the international maritime community at the 11th International Maritime Business-to-Business Conference and Exhibition, organised as part of the Lagos International Maritime Week (LIMWEEK) 2026.
The three-day event, organised by Zoe Maritime Resources Limited, will be held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, under the theme, “From Policy to Practice – Powering Maritime Excellence.”
The 2026 edition is designed to bridge the gap between maritime policy formulation and practical implementation, with particular emphasis on collaboration, innovation and measurable outcomes across Africa’s maritime sector.
According to the organisers, the conference will provide a platform for stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange knowledge, explore business opportunities and develop practical solutions to challenges confronting the maritime industry.
Government officials, regulators, maritime professionals, industry leaders, academics, investors, businesses, young professionals and representatives of international maritime organisations are expected to participate.
The organisers said participants would also examine emerging trends, strengthen partnerships and identify investment opportunities capable of accelerating the development of Nigeria’s maritime industry and the broader blue economy.
Speaking on the significance of the event, the Chairman of Zoe Maritime Resources Limited and Conference Convener, Ms. Oritsematosan Edodo-Emore, said the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies had made it necessary for Africa’s maritime industry to embrace new opportunities.
She said, “With the proliferation of artificial intelligence and other innovations, the African maritime industry and blue economy must move to its next level.”
Edodo-Emore added that the conference would enable stakeholders to identify industry challenges, exchange ideas and develop practical strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s and Africa’s maritime sectors.
The 2026 LIMWEEK is also expected to complement the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) World Maritime Day 2026 theme, which places focus on Africa, while encouraging a shift from policy discussions to concrete action and sustainable results.
