The publishing firm behind Global Transportation e-Newspaper has announced the commencement of its anniversary honours initiative, tagged the Front Page Portrait of Honour, in celebration of its first year of publishing.

In a statement issued by the management, the company disclosed that the initiative recognises outstanding individuals in the transportation sector and those with considerable level of logistics/commuting requirements in their operations for their contributions to service delivery and transport efficiency across Nigeria.

The anniversary celebration also coincides with the launch of a national transport safety advocacy project known as the ‘Safer Transport Operations Project’ (STOP). The programme aims to enlist selected industry leaders as National Ambassadors for Transport Safety, who will champion awareness and improved safety practices within their areas of influence.

Managing Editor of the publication, Mrs. Funmilola Olowookere, explained that the honourees were selected based on the collective assessment and conviction of the organisation’s editorial board.

She noted that recipients will receive specially branded portraits for display in their offices and homes, alongside an official letter of honour.

“Our company recognizes Hon. Oluwaseun Osiyemi as the Best Performing Transport Commissioner in Nigeria, and Engr. Gbenga Dairo of Ogun State as the Most Outstanding Transport Commissioner in the country,” Olowookere said.

She added that heads of transport agencies in Lagos and Ogun States, as well as leaders in the private sector with major logistics and transportation operations, were also selected for the honour.

According to her, the organisation will begin publishing a weekly special anniversary edition in January 2026, highlighting the profiles, achievements, and viewpoints of each award recipient. The publication will run on the e-newspaper platform, the GTe website, and thelandmarkinfo.com.ng blog.

Olowookere appealed to the honourees to support the initiative and ensure a smooth execution of the project, which she described as an important milestone in promoting safer transportation operations nationwide.
