NCAA Certifies Fly-Pyatic For Commercial Operations, Reaffirms Commitment To Aviation Safety
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reiterated that safety remains the top priority in the aviation sector as Fly-Pyatic, the aviation subsidiary of Pyatic Group, secured its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), allowing the company to commence commercial air transport operations.
The certification, presented in Abuja, marks a major milestone for Fly-Pyatic as it prepares to expand its presence in Nigeria’s executive aviation market, offering charter services, corporate mobility solutions and fleet management services.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, NCAA Director-General, Captain Chris Ona Najomo, said obtaining the AOC was only the beginning, stressing that maintaining the required safety standards and operational discipline would determine the company’s long-term success.
“Safety remains non-negotiable. What is important now is not just obtaining the AOC but maintaining it. We are committed to supporting operators while ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational discipline are maintained across the industry,” Najomo said.
An Air Operator Certificate is one of the most rigorous approvals in aviation, requiring operators to meet strict regulatory requirements covering aircraft maintenance, operational procedures, personnel competence, emergency response systems and safety management processes.
With the approval, Fly-Pyatic has been cleared to begin non-scheduled flight operations and executive charter services, while also strengthening its capacity to manage aircraft fleets for strategic partners.
Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Pyatic Group, HRH (Capt.) Aliyu Ahmad Yakubu, described the certification as a major step towards using aviation as a tool for business growth and economic development.
According to him, the AOC represents more than regulatory approval, but a platform for expanding access to opportunities through improved mobility.
