Ogun Approves Reconstruction Of Five Strategic Roads

The Ogun State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of five strategic roads across the state’s three senatorial districts as part of efforts to improve connectivity, ease transportation and drive socio-economic development.

The approved projects include the Okun-Owa–Ijebu-Ode Road in Odogbolu and Ijebu-Ode Local Government Areas; the Ago-Iwoye–Ijebu-Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road in Ijebu North Local Government Area; Phase One of the Odeda–Olugbo Road in Odeda Local Government Area; the Ayobo (Mopeola Junction)–Lafenwa Junction Road in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area; and Agbala Road in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area.

The approvals were announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, following the State Executive Council meeting.

Akinmade said the road projects underscore the administration’s commitment to opening up communities, reducing travel time and improving access to markets, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and industrial hubs across the state. He added that the projects are expected to stimulate economic activities while enhancing the quality of life of residents.

According to him, the approvals align with the government’s ongoing infrastructure development agenda aimed at replacing obsolete infrastructure with modern and durable facilities capable of meeting the state’s growing needs.

He reaffirmed Governor Abiodun’s commitment to sustaining infrastructure development that will attract investment, promote inclusive growth and improve the well-being of the people of Ogun State.
