PDP Members Back Uba Sani’s 2027 Re-election Bid Over Road Projects
Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State have declared support for Governor Uba Sani’s re-election bid in 2027, citing road construction projects executed by his administration.
The party members said the governor’s infrastructure development efforts had improved their communities, adding that they were willing to support him at the polls despite their affiliation with the opposition party.
One of the supporters, Adamu Danburam, a PDP coordinator in his community, said he would vote for Sani because the governor had provided infrastructure that the PDP failed to deliver while in power.
Danburam explained that his decision was based on the governor’s performance and commitment to addressing the needs of local communities, rather than party loyalty.
He, however, urged the governor to sustain the pace of development, calling for the provision of a hospital, electricity and potable water in Birnin Da’a village.
Similarly, another PDP member, Dogara Mohammed, said he would vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections in appreciation of the road project executed by the state government.
Mohammed, who said he had never defected from the PDP, noted that the road would benefit residents and future generations by improving transportation and connectivity.
He added that residents were prepared to reciprocate the governor’s intervention by supporting his re-election bid.
Also speaking, Hassan Adamu Abdullahi said the construction of the road linking Gurundafi, Soba and Turawa had eased transportation challenges, particularly for farmers conveying agricultural produce to markets during the rainy season.
According to him, the poor state of the road previously made movement difficult and delayed the transportation of farm produce.
Abdullahi said the new road had significantly improved accessibility, allowing residents to reach their destinations within minutes.
The residents noted that the project would enhance connectivity between communities, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, stimulate economic activities and improve access to neighbouring areas.
The Soba road project is among several infrastructure interventions undertaken by the Kaduna State Government across the state.
Other projects include the 15-kilometre road linking Kasuwar Magani to Wusar in Kajuru Local Government Area and the 23-kilometre road connecting Madaci to Madakiya and extending to Kafanchan in Jema’a Local Government Area of Southern Kaduna.
The residents expressed hope that Sani’s possible second term would provide an opportunity for the government to address other pressing developmental needs in their communities.
