TCAN To Honour Outstanding Transport Sector Stakeholders At 2026 Summit
The Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) has announced plans to recognise individuals, agencies and organisations that have made significant contributions to the development of Nigeria’s transport sector during its 2026 Annual Transport Summit.
The summit, themed “Unlocking Economic Growth Through Transportation Logistics,” is scheduled to hold on September 24, 2026, at the Radisson Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
According to a statement issued by the association on Tuesday, the event will bring together key stakeholders across the transportation value chain, including operators in the aviation, maritime, rail and road transport sectors, logistics service providers, policymakers, regulators, financial institutions and development partners.
TCAN Chairman, Tola Adenubi, said transportation logistics remains a critical driver of economic growth and national development, stressing the need for increased attention from both public and private sector stakeholders.
He noted that government agencies, transport operators and state governments that have invested in improving transportation infrastructure and services deserve recognition for their contributions to economic development.
Adenubi said the efficiency of Nigeria’s logistics ecosystem—from cargo handling at airports and seaports to inland waterways transportation, freight movement and last-mile delivery services—plays a crucial role in enhancing the country’s economic competitiveness.
He added that discussions at the summit would focus on innovative strategies, digital transformation, infrastructure financing, public-private partnerships and regulatory reforms needed to strengthen transportation logistics and unlock economic opportunities.
Chairman of the 2026 Conference Committee, Suleiman Idris, said participants would engage in panel discussions, keynote presentations and interactive sessions aimed at evaluating the current state of Nigeria’s transportation logistics framework.
According to him, stakeholders will also examine the role of multimodal transport integration in driving economic expansion, identify investment opportunities within the logistics and supply chain sector, and develop policy recommendations to improve operational efficiency and global competitiveness.
The annual summit has become a prominent platform for dialogue among government agencies, transport operators and logistics service providers on challenges, opportunities and policy directions within Nigeria’s transport industry.
