Adamawa Commissioner Commends Progress On Road Projects, Reaffirms Quality Delivery

The Adamawa State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Sulaiman Mohammed Barade, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of ongoing road construction projects in Numan and Yola, describing the developments as evidence of the state government’s commitment to infrastructure renewal.

Barade made the remarks on Monday during an inspection tour of key road projects, including the Half Clover Interchange Road Project along Numan Road and the Sarki Kano–Wuro Hausa Road Project in Yola.

Speaking at the Half Clover Interchange project site, the commissioner said contractors handling the project were complying with approved specifications and delivering work in line with the expectations of the state government.

“I am satisfied with the quality and pace of work being executed here. The contractors are adhering to specifications, and this reflects the commitment of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration to deliver durable and modern infrastructure,” he said.

Accompanied by engineers, ministry officials and project supervisors, Barade noted that the administration remained focused on improving transportation networks, stimulating economic activities and enhancing the living standards of residents across the state.

“Our administration is determined to ensure that every project translates into meaningful development for the people of Adamawa,” he added.

During the visit to the Sarki Kano–Wuro Hausa Road Project in Yola, the commissioner met with project engineers and urged them to maintain professionalism and ensure the timely completion of the work.

He stressed that the government would not compromise on quality, emphasizing the importance of delivering infrastructure that meets the needs of residents and road users.

“Contractors must uphold the highest standards. These roads are for the benefit of residents and road users, and we cannot compromise on quality,” Barade stated.

The commissioner further reaffirmed the Ministry of Works’ commitment to closely monitoring ongoing projects across the state to ensure accountability and value for public funds.

“The Ministry of Works will continue to monitor all ongoing projects to guarantee value for money. We are committed to sustaining quality project delivery across the state,” he said.

Residents of the affected communities also welcomed the projects, noting that the roads would ease transportation challenges and boost socio-economic development in the area.

A community leader commended the government for prioritising infrastructure development, saying the projects would improve connectivity and support economic growth.

The inspection forms part of the Adamawa State Government’s broader efforts to accelerate road construction, urban renewal and rural connectivity across the state.
