Two Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash On Poka Road In Epe
OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos
A fatal road accident involving multiple vehicles has claimed the lives of two persons along Poka Road near Atlantic Hall in Epe, Lagos State.
The incident, which occurred earlier on Friday, involved a granite-laden truck, an empty MACK truck, and a commercial tricycle.
According to emergency officials, the deceased were identified as the tricycle driver and one of his passengers, both adult males, who died at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the empty truck sustained injuries and has been taken into custody at the Noforija Police Station.
Emergency response teams, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Nigeria Police Force, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, and Federal Road Safety Corps, were deployed to the scene to manage the situation and facilitate rescue and recovery efforts.
Officials said recovery operations were ongoing as of press time, with authorities awaiting the arrival of a private tow truck to clear the affected vehicles from the road.
Motorists and residents have been urged to comply with directives from emergency personnel to ease traffic congestion in the area.
