Yusuf Inspects Progress On Singa Market Road Project
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Wednesday conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction work on the Singa Market Road.
The governor’s visit provided an opportunity to assess the quality of work and ensure that the project is progressing according to schedule.
Daily Independent reports that during the inspection, Governor Yusuf engaged with engineers, contractors, and local stakeholders to understand the challenges and milestones of the road construction.
In an address, Governor Yusuf emphasized the administration’s commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure, particularly road networks, to facilitate business activities and reduce traffic congestion in busy commercial areas.
“Our focus is on delivering projects that directly improve the lives of our citizens and boost economic activities,” he stated.
He urged contractors to maintain high standards and ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Singa Market Road is being constructed in a 4+4 lane design, which is expected to accommodate increased vehicular movement, reduce bottlenecks, and provide safer, more efficient transportation for traders and residents.
Local traders and community members welcomed the governor’s visit, expressing optimism that the new road would not only enhance the flow of goods but also attract more business to the area.
This visit is part of a broader initiative by the Kano State government to monitor ongoing infrastructure projects across the state, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with the development goals outlined in the administration’s strategic plans.
Governor Yusuf concluded the inspection by reiterating his administration’s vision of creating a state with modern, functional, and accessible roads, noting that continued investment in transportation infrastructure is key to fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for Kano residents.
