Kaduna Kayarda-Dan Alhaji Road 95% Complete, Says Agency

The Kaduna State Government has announced that the 17-kilometre Kayarda-Dan Alhaji Road in Lere Local Government Area is 95 per cent complete, with the remaining work expected to be finished within one week.

The Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Dr Abdullahi Baba Ahmad, disclosed this during an inspection of ongoing road projects in Lere and Kubau Local Government Areas.

Baba Ahmad said only 1.5 kilometres of the road remained unfinished, adding that the project, being executed by PW Nigeria Limited, would soon be ready for use.

He explained that the road connects several farming communities to the Kano Road and would significantly improve transportation, enhance accessibility and facilitate the movement of agricultural produce when completed.

According to him, the project is part of the state government’s commitment to improving road connectivity, stimulating economic activities and easing the movement of people and goods across the state.

During the inspection, the KADRA managing director also visited ongoing township road projects in Pambegua, where he disclosed that the hydraulic structures had been completed, while drainage works were 90 per cent finished.

He added that the Pambegua and Zuntu township roads, including the Zuntu Palace Road in Kubau Local Government Area, were expected to be completed soon.

Baba Ahmad expressed satisfaction with the quality of the drainage structures and the results of the sub-base density tests conducted on the projects.

The Chairman of Lere Local Government Area, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmad Saminaka, commended the state government for the road construction, describing it as a significant intervention that would benefit communities along the corridor.

Similarly, the Market Head of Kwanar Zogole, Nura Usman, said the project would improve accessibility and stimulate commercial activities in the community.

Usman also praised the quality of construction and the installation of solar-powered streetlights, noting that the provision fulfilled a promise made to residents.

The Chief of Pambegua, Abdullahi Idris, also expressed appreciation to the state government, saying the road project would bring relief to residents and traders in the area.
