Kano Governor Praises Tinubu Over Abuja–Kano Expressway, Infrastructure Projects

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritising major infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation, boosting trade and accelerating economic development in Northern Nigeria.

Yusuf gave the commendation on Wednesday while representing the President at the commissioning of Section III of the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano Expressway.

The governor said sustained investment in critical infrastructure was essential to strengthening economic activities, connecting communities and improving the movement of people, goods and services across the country.

He noted that the Kano–Zaria corridor was particularly significant because of Kano State’s position as a major commercial and industrial hub serving several states in the northern region.

According to him, improved road connectivity would enhance agricultural production, expand access to markets and create better opportunities for traders, transport operators and other businesses.

Yusuf explained that efficient road networks remained crucial to creating a favourable business environment, facilitating the distribution of goods and supporting economic growth.

He added that the development of major transport corridors would help strengthen commercial ties between communities and improve the movement of agricultural produce and other commodities to markets.

The governor further stressed the need for sustained investment in infrastructure, noting that such projects would contribute to national development and improve economic activities across different regions.

He also called for stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments to address infrastructure challenges, accelerate development and ensure that ongoing projects deliver meaningful benefits to Nigerians.

Yusuf reiterated that continued investment in road infrastructure would play a vital role in unlocking the economic potential of Northern Nigeria and strengthening its contribution to the country’s overall development.
