AbdulRazaq Approves 10km Road Project To Connect Communities In Ilorin East

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the construction of the 10-kilometre Oke-Ose/Ile-Apa/Lajiki road in Ilorin East Local Government Area, with work expected to commence within two weeks.

The governor announced the approval during a visit to the Alangua of Lajiki, Alhaji Solihu Atanda, where he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and living conditions in rural communities across the state.

AbdulRazaq said the road project was necessary to ease the transportation of agricultural produce to markets, improve connectivity among the benefiting communities and stimulate economic activities in the area.

He explained that the road construction formed part of the administration’s broader development efforts, noting that the government had previously rehabilitated the community’s healthcare centre, constructed additional classrooms and renovated existing ones.

According to the governor, the next priority is to make the road accessible to motorists and residents, adding that construction would begin within the announced two-week timeframe.

The governor also pledged to address challenges relating to electricity and water supply in the community, with a view to improving residents’ welfare and ensuring better access to essential services.

He expressed appreciation to the people of Lajiki and neighbouring communities for their support and urged them to sustain their backing for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In his response, the Alangua of Lajiki, Alhaji Solihu Atanda, commended the governor for visiting the community and acknowledged the development projects executed by the state government.

Atanda also expressed appreciation for the administration’s consideration of indigenes of the community for political appointments and elective positions.

He pledged the continued support of the community for the AbdulRazaq-led administration and said residents were prepared to support APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The proposed road project is expected to improve access between Oke-Ose, Ile-Apa and Lajiki, particularly for farmers transporting produce to markets, while strengthening economic and social connections across the communities.
