NCAA Inaugurates Quality Assurance Team, Unveils Digital Project System
The Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo, has inaugurated a Quality Assurance Team to strengthen regulatory oversight, enhance compliance, and entrench global best practices in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The inauguration, which took place on Wednesday in Abuja, marks what Najomo described as a strategic milestone in the Authority’s efforts to reinforce safety, transparency, and operational excellence. He noted that the initiative is also part of broader steps toward achieving ISO 9001 certification.
According to a statement shared on the NCAA’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the newly constituted team—drawn from various directorates within the Authority—will drive continuous improvement by identifying operational gaps, enforcing standards, and ensuring that aviation safety oversight processes meet international benchmarks.
In addition to the inauguration, Najomo also commissioned the Electronic Project Portfolio Management System (EPPMS), a digital platform designed to modernise project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery across the Authority.
He described the EPPMS as a transformative tool aligned with global best practices, adding that it supports the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda by promoting transparency, accountability, and value for money in public sector spending.
The initiatives, according to the NCAA boss, underscore the Authority’s commitment to improving institutional efficiency while maintaining high safety standards in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
