TRACE Commends Corporate Partners For Supporting Personnel Healthcare
OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has commended Farmex Meyer Pharmaceutical Company and Hardej Pharmacy for supporting the health and welfare of its personnel through the donation of essential medicines and the provision of free medical screening.
The initiative, held at the TRACE Ota Divisional Command in Ogun State, forms part of a corporate social responsibility programme aimed at improving the wellbeing and operational readiness of frontline traffic officers who work under demanding conditions.
The donated medical supplies included blood tonics, multivitamin capsules, pain relief medications and other essential drugs intended to address common health challenges faced by traffic personnel.
Representatives of Farmex Meyer Pharmaceutical said the intervention was designed to enhance the wellbeing of officers regularly exposed to stress, environmental hazards and physical risks while carrying out traffic management duties.
Speaking during the presentation, the Ota Divisional Commander of TRACE, Commander Hammed Salau, said the donation would help bridge critical healthcare gaps among officers and further strengthen their capacity to deliver effective traffic management services.
The programme also featured a health awareness session and free medical screening, including blood pressure and blood sugar tests, conducted by Hardej Pharmacy under the supervision of medical practitioner Mr. Sola Adejuwon.
Adejuwon praised the leadership of the agency’s Most Senior TRACE Commander, Commander Elias Omonayajo, for sustaining the organisation’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Ogun State’s 27 major traffic corridors.
He urged officers to prioritise their health despite the demands of their profession.
“TRACE personnel perform their duties under very challenging and unpredictable conditions. Their health must remain a top priority. They should also pay attention to what they eat and drink and ensure they get adequate rest after work,” he said.
Adejuwon also commended Commander Salau for his proactive leadership and collaborative approach to improving road safety within Ota and neighbouring communities.
Responding, Salau expressed appreciation to Farmex Meyer Pharmaceutical Company and Hardej Pharmacy for their support, describing the intervention as a valuable corporate social responsibility initiative that would boost the welfare, morale and operational effectiveness of TRACE personnel.
He noted that partnerships between the public and private sectors remain essential in strengthening the capacity of road traffic agencies to deliver safer and more efficient services to the motoring public.
