Wike Commends Quality, Pace Of Abuja Road Projects
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of ongoing road projects across Abuja, saying residents are beginning to witness the impact of governance through improved infrastructure.
Wike made the remarks on Wednesday during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects in Karu, Apo-Karshi, and Gbazango, also known as Arab Road, in Kubwa.
The minister praised construction firms handling the projects, particularly Abdul Val and Zeberced, for delivering quality work within scheduled timelines.
According to him, the road projects inspected have shown remarkable progress and are expected to improve transportation and living conditions for residents in the affected communities.
Wike specifically commended Abdul Val for the standard of work on the Karu road project, noting that the company previously handled the Ushafa road project commissioned last year by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through Vice President Kashim Shettima.
He disclosed that the Karu road project is among those scheduled for inauguration during President Tinubu’s third anniversary celebrations.
Speaking on the Apo-Karshi road project being executed by SCC, the minister described it as a critical infrastructure demanded by residents over the years and expressed confidence that it would be completed before the end of the year.
Wike also applauded Zeberced for the ongoing Gbazango road project, which he said would equally be inaugurated during the President’s third anniversary.
He noted that the company had earlier handled the A2-Pai road project commissioned last year and is currently executing the Goma-Yangoji road project.
The minister stated that residents’ excitement during the inspection reflected growing public confidence in the administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
He stressed that while quality delivery was important, contractors must also ensure strict adherence to project timelines.
Wike added that the President’s third anniversary would feature the inauguration of several completed infrastructure projects across the FCT.
