Five Injured As 40-Foot Truck Crashes Into Two Buses In Lagos

Five passengers, including a commercial bus driver, have sustained injuries after a 40-foot articulated truck collided with two commercial buses around Berger bus stop, inward Kara Bridge, in the Ojodu area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, noting that the injured victims comprised three women and two men.

According to the agency, the accident involved a HOWO articulated truck travelling out of Lagos, an interstate commercial Mazda bus and a Toyota Hiace bus conveying passengers.

LASTMA operatives reportedly rescued the injured victims at the scene and facilitated their evacuation to the Lagos State Emergency and Trauma Centre at Toll Gate for medical attention.

Personnel of the Isheri Police Station also provided security support during the rescue operation.

The agency said the crash caused significant traffic congestion along the affected corridor, with vehicle queues extending to Otedola Bridge.

To ease the situation and prevent further accidents, LASTMA officials evacuated the vehicles from the carriageway and worked to restore normal traffic flow.

The vehicles were subsequently handed over to the police for investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and any necessary legal action.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, sympathised with the injured passengers and wished them a speedy recovery.

He urged motorists to observe traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles were properly maintained, particularly operators of articulated trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Bakare-Oki also advised drivers to exercise caution and remain vigilant while navigating major roads to prevent avoidable road crashes.

The agency reiterated its commitment to promoting road safety across Lagos State, urging motorists to comply with traffic directives issued by its officials.
