FRSC Promotes 7,472 Personnel, Charges Them On Greater Responsibility
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 7,472 personnel comprising 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, leadership and operational efficiency within the Corps.
The promotion, according to the FRSC, is aimed at rewarding merit, dedication, competence, discipline and years of service while further enhancing human capital development across the organisation.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the elevation as both a reward for hard work and a call to greater responsibility, urging the newly promoted personnel to justify their new ranks through improved professionalism, accountability and service delivery.
Mohammed said the promotion was more than a change in rank, stressing that it represented a renewed mandate for the affected personnel to lead effectively and provide better service to the Nigerian motoring public.
He noted that the strength of the FRSC depended not only on its patrol vehicles, technology and enforcement systems, but also on the quality, character and commitment of its personnel.
The Corps Marshal congratulated the promoted officers and marshals, urging them to uphold discipline, integrity and respect for members of the public while remaining committed to improving road safety across the country.
He further said promotions within the Corps must continue to serve as a tool for building a professional, responsive and performance-driven institution capable of addressing the changing demands of road safety management.
The development comes as the FRSC intensifies its operational, technological and public enlightenment initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and improving compliance with traffic regulations nationwide.
According to the Corps, a motivated and professionally developed workforce remains critical to achieving sustainable improvements in road safety outcomes.
Meanwhile, Heads of Departments, Corps Officers, Heads of Special Units and Commanding Officers have been directed to decorate the newly promoted personnel under their respective commands between Wednesday, August 26 and Friday, August 28, 2026.
The exercise is to be conducted in line with the FRSC’s Administrative Instruction on the Decoration of Newly Promoted Officers and Marshals.
Mohammed urged the newly promoted personnel to approach their new responsibilities with renewed commitment, emphasising that rank within the FRSC comes with increased expectations and must ultimately be demonstrated through service to the nation.
