Primelane Launches Premium Ride Service For Lagos Professionals, Airport Travellers

A new premium on-demand ride-hailing service, Primelane, has commenced operations in Lagos, targeting professionals, executives, frequent air travellers and international visitors seeking reliable and consistent transportation services.

The company, which announced its entry into the Lagos transportation market, said its services would include passenger pickups and drop-offs to and from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, as well as coverage of major business districts on Lagos Island and connections to the mainland and other parts of the metropolis.

According to the company, the launch is aimed at addressing transportation challenges associated with the movement of people across Lagos, particularly amid the city’s growing commercial activities, professional opportunities and business expansion.

Primelane stated that while conventional ride-hailing platforms had gained widespread acceptance through volume-based services and competitive pricing,
customers continued to experience inconsistencies in service delivery. It added that traditional executive hire services had addressed some of these concerns but often lacked the on-demand availability and operational consistency associated with app-based transportation.

The company said its service model was designed to prioritise consistency, reliability and the overall passenger experience rather than competing primarily on price.

As part of its operational standards, Primelane disclosed that all drivers on its platform would undergo vetting, background checks and chauffeur-standard training before being permitted to accept bookings.

The company identified Lagos’ professional class, including corporate executives, expatriates, frequent flyers and international business visitors, as its primary target market. It noted that for such customers, dependable transportation and professional presentation were essential components of their daily activities and business engagements.

Speaking on the rationale behind the service, a spokesperson for Primelane said the company was established to address the gap between Lagos’ economic growth and the transportation experience available to people contributing to that growth.

“Lagos has built industries, careers, and ambitions that stand alongside anything in the world. The one area that has not kept pace is how the people driving all of that actually move through the city. That is what Primelane is here to address,” the spokesperson said.

The launch comes amid reported demand from multinational companies, international visitors and Nigeria’s expanding professional workforce for transportation services that offer greater reliability and consistency.

Primelane said its focus on driver screening, training and service delivery was intended to provide an alternative for customers seeking premium transportation solutions within Lagos.
