Tinubu’s Approval Of South-East Road Projects Will Boost Regional Economy – Soludo

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the reconstruction and rehabilitation of key federal roads across the South-East, describing the move as a major step toward addressing the region’s long-standing infrastructure challenges.

The approved projects include the 108-kilometre Otuocha–Anam–Abaji Road, which links Anambra and Kogi states, and the 150-kilometre Oba–Nnewi–Uga–Ihube Road, connecting Anambra and Imo states. Both roads are expected to be dualised.

In a statement, Soludo said the projects demonstrate the Federal Government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting economic growth across the South-East.

According to the governor, the road projects will ease the movement of people, goods and services, reduce travel time and improve access to markets, thereby stimulating trade, investment and other economic activities in the region.

He noted that better road infrastructure would strengthen regional integration, promote socio-economic development and improve the living standards of residents.

Soludo also praised President Tinubu for what he described as a responsive approach to infrastructure development, saying the approval reflects the administration’s willingness to address critical challenges affecting the South-East.

“The approval of these major South-East road projects is a welcome development that will have far-reaching economic and social benefits for our people,” the governor said.

He expressed confidence that the projects would be executed to high standards and completed on schedule, while calling for sustained collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments to accelerate infrastructure development across the country.

The governor reaffirmed Anambra State’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national development and improve the quality of life of Nigerians.
