Turkish Airlines Increases Lagos–Istanbul Flights To 10 Weekly From December

Turkish Airlines will increase its flight frequencies on the Lagos–Istanbul route from seven to 10 weekly services from December 11, 2026, in a move aimed at meeting growing passenger demand and improving international air connectivity.

The airline disclosed this in a statement, noting that the additional flights would provide travellers with greater scheduling flexibility and more convenient connections through Istanbul to destinations across its global network.

The expansion will add three weekly services to the existing Lagos operations, creating more travel options for passengers flying between Nigeria and Türkiye, as well as those connecting to other international destinations.

According to the airline, its network offers access to more than 350 destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, supported by a fleet of over 560 aircraft.

The development follows the airline’s decision to increase its Istanbul–Abuja services to seven weekly flights in June 2026, further strengthening air links between Nigeria and Türkiye.

Turkish Airlines said the additional Lagos flights would support both business and leisure travel while enhancing passengers’ access to its international destinations. Business Class passengers connecting through Istanbul will also continue to benefit from access to the airline’s Business Lounge at Istanbul Airport.

Under the revised schedule, the existing Lagos–Istanbul service, flight TK 625, will continue to operate daily, departing Lagos at 3:20 p.m. and arriving in Istanbul at 8:25 p.m.

The return service, flight TK 626, will also operate daily, departing Istanbul at 10:10 p.m. and arriving in Lagos at 6:35 a.m.

The three additional weekly services will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, commencing December 11, 2026.

The additional Istanbul–Lagos service, flight TK 615, is scheduled to depart Istanbul at 1:30 a.m. and arrive in Lagos at 6:35 a.m. Meanwhile, the corresponding Lagos–Istanbul service, flight TK 616, will depart Lagos at 8:20 a.m. and arrive in Istanbul at 4:45 p.m.

The airline said the expansion forms part of its broader strategy to grow its international network and improve connectivity for passengers travelling from Nigeria to destinations around the world.
