Zamfara Warns Residents Against Encroaching On Road Project Corridor

The Zamfara State Government has warned residents against encroaching on the ongoing Daza Gidan Dawa Road project, directing those with illegal structures along the project corridor to remove them without delay.

The warning was issued during an inspection of the road project by a joint technical team comprising officials from the Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Housing, and the Zamfara State Urban and Regional Planning Board (ZUREPB).

The inspection team was led by the Director of Civil Engineering in the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Dalhatu Mayana, alongside the Executive Secretary of ZUREPB, Comrade Audu Bala, and other technical officials.

During the inspection, the team identified several cases of encroachment within the approved road alignment, noting that the illegal structures could impede the timely execution of the project.

The officials urged affected residents to voluntarily remove any structures located within the designated road corridor to allow contractors to continue work without unnecessary delays.

They emphasized that public cooperation is vital to the successful completion of the project, which is expected to improve transportation, strengthen connectivity, and stimulate socio-economic development in the area.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the road project on schedule and appealed to residents to comply with the directive in the interest of public safety and infrastructure development.
